Those Oldies But Goodies

I've been enjoying a stroll down memory lane courtesy of Expatbrian's musings about music. If you're a baby boomer - or just like the oldies - click here for rock and roll, here for music from the Vietnam era, and here for music and a few other goodies from the psychedelic years.

From Motown to Janis Joplin, they're all there. Some of my favorites were the Moody Blues; Jethro Tull; Crosby, Stills, Nash & Young; Bob Seeger; Led Zeppelin; Gordon Lightfoot; Traffic; Chicago; and too many others to mention - yet alone remember.

Chicago

An excellent old band - and one of the first songs I learned to play on piano was Color My World.

CSNY also had a prominent place on my I-Pod. I love 4-Way Street.

All this talk of music has me wanting to do another Music Friday.

hi and thanks for the plug. I think I'm going to move on to what's on the expats mp3 player now, then do the post about the military intelligence surveillance so stay tuned. These last three posts on music are inadequate at best. Getting into it, there is so much ground to cover, so many great bands and great songs, there is no way to do it justice in a blog. Just doing a search in Google images for psychedelic music posters produced loads of great stuff.

Midwestern & Expat, didn't we live through the greatest era in terms of music?

I woke up in the middle of the night humming Carole King's "I Feel the Earth Move" and for a second thought I was in California. Whew! Once I woke up and realized I was in Michigan my heart slowed back down.

This memory lane stuff must have jogged a bolt loose in my brain. I remembered tunes by CCR and the James Gang too!
