I was ...i AGREE with the republicans on this issue. I was reading all of the candidates viewpoints, and I feel it is the democrats being in la la land. They all claim this "free" health insurance for all. Wake up and smell the coffee, SOMEONE has to pay for it. Also, all of the uninsured are not hard working innocent little people. Many chose to be. Second, the two greatest killers in this great USA....Heart disease and lung cancer. So wow, basically others have to pay for poor lifestyle choices. Giving everyone insurance is not going to lower costs. Think about it!!!!
Some of the republicans are offering very real, reasonable solutions, which actually get to the root of the problem which has the potential to actually lower costs, such as PREVENTION!!! Such as keeping government control to a minimun, and keeping the USA the best system in the world, by attracting the best and the brightest. People always want to point out the negatives of our system, what about the good? People all over the world come here to get treatment from the top surgeons. Students come to train. Not the other way around
How ironic is it that people are falling all over a HEALTHCARE video made by MICHAEL MOORE, he is the epitomy of why costs are so high. He is grossly obese, and Mr moore makes more money a week than any doctor, nurse, or pharmacist will make in a lifetime. Wake up american
I have to wonder if all these fantasy claims the democrats are spouting off are even thought through, or just to win votes.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-18370478.post-16406161241790860992007-07-11T00:12:00.000-04:002007-07-11T00:12:00.000-04:00Hi Kathy,I suppose you're right...not mentioning a...Hi Kathy,

I suppose you're right...not mentioning an issue on their website says almost as much as mentioning it...

gary
www.pptproject.comgaryhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/04374703663229753578noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-18370478.post-50706085789186308102007-07-10T12:22:00.000-04:002007-07-10T12:22:00.000-04:00Thanks for the link, Gary. I've seen remarks from Giuliani and Paul on the subject of health care in other places too, but I still think they're out of touch with the voters on this issue. How else to explain the fact they don't even mention it on their campaign websites? They only comment on the topic when asked about it by reporters or the media. That tells me they don't really care about the uninsured.Kathyhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/06875378679299157108noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-18370478.post-70103129255358674782007-07-09T23:43:00.000-04:002007-07-09T23:43:00.000-04:00> McCain, Giuliani, Hunter and Paul don't even men...> McCain, Giuliani, Hunter and Paul don't even mention health care on their campaign websites.

That may be, but you can find youtube videos for Giuliani and Ron Paul on the subject...

www.ExpertVoter.org

garygaryhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/04374703663229753578noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-18370478.post-62763177156953842752007-06-28T03:40:00.000-04:002007-06-28T03:40:00.000-04:00Hi Kathy, just wanted to let you know the Bali pic...Hi Kathy, just wanted to let you know the Bali pics are up. It requires all employers to contribute an equal amount to cover health coverage for everyone - and Wal-Mart is no exception.

Larry, I agree with you, and that's why I like the Kennedy-Dingell plan that offers people the same coverage that our politicians currently enjoy on our dime.

Abi, GM would love that law, but I'm not so sure about Ford. ;-)

I have a problem with those lifetime caps so many insurance companies are putting on their plans. What's a person with a chronic, debilitating illness supposed to do when they reach their limit - die? No, they spend down all their money and go on (gasp!) Medicaid. We might as well just enroll everyone in a government plan now and eliminate the greedy, for profit middle-man.Kathyhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/06875378679299157108noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-18370478.post-24150564918963366792007-06-25T18:45:00.000-04:002007-06-25T18:45:00.000-04:00All these plans are based on a continuation of pri...All these plans are based on a continuation of private health care. I agree with Michael Moore here - a private, for-profit system is the problem, not the solution.

The Mass. plan has many problems. To help make it workable, tens of thousands of people are "exempt" ie, will remain uninsured, at least for a while longer. There are lifetime caps and high deductibles when there weren't supposed to be any. And like the USA Today article in CAPA notes, the big winners are the insurance companies. I mean, wouldn't you love the state of Michigan to pass a law requiring all residents to buy GM cars? :-)Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-18370478.post-79954558825385167132007-06-25T17:12:00.000-04:002007-06-25T17:12:00.000-04:00Every one of these people have plenty of money to ...Every one of these people have plenty of money to afford their own insurance, or the taxpayers are buying it for them.

They care nothing about the 47 million or more Americans with no healthcare.

They care nothing about the million who are underinsured.

The American people should be given the same healthcare coverage that Congress and their families enjoy.

After all, the taxpayers are paying for it.

Good post.Larryhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/05283557503536810926noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-18370478.post-17257498532555305152007-06-25T17:06:00.000-04:002007-06-25T17:06:00.000-04:00Dr. Paul also has a bill to protect vitamins & nat...Dr. Paul also has a bill to protect vitamins & natural supplements from the FDA! It would be fantastic to have better coverage for our sick, but what about the fact that major employers like Wal-Mart just aren't paying their employees enough to care for themselves without government health care?Anonymousnoreply@blogger.com
